How Boest sold out Lago Lago over a month in advance

Lago Lago, a multi-day festival getaway at the stunning Stroombroek recreation area in the Achterhoek, offers a truly unique experience: three sun-soaked days and warm summer nights filled with dancing, beach vibes, cocktails, wellness, and exploring the lakeside. 

Although the festival already had a loyal fanbase, the organizing team at Chasing the Hihat wanted to scale up without losing their core identity. They aimed to attract new audiences while staying true to their festival DNA. In October 2023, we joined forces to achieve that goal. 

Our Approach

Our strategy focused on attracting the right festival-goers: people who genuinely aligned with the atmosphere and community of Lago Lago. We made full use of Lago Lago’s own brand book, including audience personas, to create a marketing strategy that reflected their core values. We built lookalike audiences based on existing fans, followers, and ticket buyers, ensuring we reached people most likely to connect with the festival. The campaigns were primarily executed on Meta and TikTok, the platforms where Lago Lago’s audience is most active. 



Rather than relying on hard-sell “buy now!” messaging, we spoke directly to those who truly understand the Lago Lago concept, tapping into their love for sunny days, warm nights, and cocktails in the sand. Our goal wasn’t just to sell tickets (though that was obviously important) but to strengthen the Lago Lago community by engaging like-minded festival lovers. The result? Organic fanbase growth and an even deeper connection to the festival. 



Our results

The goal of selling out was achieved well in advance: all tickets were sold out more than a month before the festival. Additionally, the campaigns delivered a ROAS of 5.65.
