How we increased NOCKNOCK Art Fair’s ticket sales by +480% in one year

For the past two years, we have had the pleasure of working with NOCKNOCK Art Fair, a vibrant art fair in Amsterdam that redefines the traditional art experience. NOCKNOCK serves as a dynamic platform for both emerging and established artists, bringing together contemporary art, design, and fashion in an immersive and accessible setting. The event has rapidly grown into a key player in the Dutch art scene. During its latest edition, NOCKNOCK welcomed over 8,000 visitors: an impressive 480% growth compared to 2023! We are proud to have contributed to this success and are already looking forward to the 2025 edition.

Our Strategy:

Our goal was clear: maximize ticket sales and encourage earlier purchases. In previous editions, visitors often bought their tickets at the door, a behavior we wanted to change. To make a change, we developed a powerful strategy using Google and Meta (Facebook & Instagram) Advertising. By strategically leveraging multiple contact moments, we continuously brought the event to the attention of the right audience.

We targeted NOCKNOCK’s existing network of artists and expanded it with strategically built lookalike audiences (LALs). This allowed us to reach a completely new group of potential visitors. Through advanced retargeting, we continuously optimized performance, leading to a major shift: 50% of tickets were sold in advance rather than at the door. This not only made ticket sales more efficient but also contributed to an overall 384% growth compared to the previous year.
